World Cup Gauntlet ("we", "us") is a free game for predicting the FIFA World Cup 2026 knockout bracket. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and the control you have over it. We keep it short because we collect very little.

What we collect

Your bracket picks — stored as a short code in the page link. Used to show you your bracket and to score it against the real results.
Your email address — only if you tick the opt-in box and submit it. Used to email you your round-by-round scores and, occasionally, a clearly-labelled sponsor.
A timestamp and IP address at the moment you opt in — kept solely as proof of consent and for basic abuse prevention.

We do not use tracking cookies, sell your data, or share your email with anyone except the email-delivery provider below.

Why we can use your email (legal basis)

We email you only because you gave explicit consent by ticking the opt-in box. That consent covers round-result updates and the occasional sponsor or affiliate message. You can withdraw it at any time (see "Your choices").

Who processes your data

We use a small number of trusted providers purely to run the service:

Vercel — hosting.
Neon — the database that stores your email + bracket code.
Resend — sends the round-result emails.
flagcdn.com — serves the country flags shown on the site.

We don't pass your email to advertisers. Sponsor/affiliate links in our emails simply send you to a third party's own site, which has its own privacy policy.

How long we keep it

We keep your email for the duration of the tournament and any follow-up about future editions. If you unsubscribe, you're removed from sends immediately, and you can ask us to delete your record entirely at any time.

Your choices

Unsubscribe — one click, via the link at the bottom of every email.
Access or delete — email us and we'll send you a copy of your data or erase it.
Play without an email — the game works fully without ever giving us your address.
